If there’s one thing we really dislike feeling, it’s nausea.
Usually, we just try and let the feeling pass, hoping it will go away quickly and we can get on with our day.
But sometimes it can linger for far too long, putting us off of our food and making us want to curl up in bed.
If this is something you would love to change, a woman named Isabella claims to have found a body hack to “get rid” of that nauseous feeling.
Posting on TikTok, under the username @onlyjayus, she pretended to feel nauseous, then poured rubbing alcohol onto some kitchen roll and inhaled the strong smell.
She claims the smell was disgusting, but made her stop feeling sick.
Following this, she shared two other tricks, including humming to stop yourself from feeling like you’re going to throw up and clearing your sinuses by holding your tongue to the roof of your mouth and pressing your thumb to your forehead for 20 seconds.
Isabella’s video went viral, being watched over 50 million times and garnering millions of likes.
The clip was even spotted by a doctor, who decided to review her hacks and let people know if they were correct or not.
Dr Karan Raj, who works for the NHS, gave each of the hacks a thumbs up.
For the rubbing alcohol, he said: “Rubbing alcohol contains isopropyl ethanol which relieves nausea.
“Inhale, but don’t consume.”
He adds that the humming trick also works because humming “suppresses gag reflex.”
And the tongue/forehead hack also got his approval because it “moves the vomer bone which opens up sinuses”.
People in the comments praised them for sharing the information, with one person saying: “I’m gonna remember all of this. Thanks.”
Another replied: “The first one is VERY helpful considering I get nauseous every day.”
A third added: “I may look stupid but I’m going to be trying these out for sure!”
